At the Ford Rouge Plant we were challenged with installation of the landscape for a one-mile length of Miller Road in preparation for Ford’s centennial celebration. This massive project had 60’ beds on both sides of Miller Road that required the removal of contaminated soils and the installation of 200,000 cubic yards of topsoil and tens of thousands of plants and trees. Our 27-man crew finished this job in time for the celebration and on budget without causing any interruptions of the manufacturing operations.

  • Main characteristic of the project: Streetscape
  • Challenges of the project: Installed 200,000 cubic yards of topsoil and thousands of trees, shrubs and perennials along Miller Road without interrupting automobile production.
  • How we made it work: WH Canon Landscape Company conducted careful planning and scheduling while working closely with the designers and other construction trades.
